“But Daddy, I don’t want to help you clear the table,” Annie complained, a frown on her face. She was tired of helping out around the house. She wanted to play, not work. She had things that she wanted to do, and clearing the table was not fun.
You love to play, and God wants you to have fun. God wants you to take the time to play and enjoy your life. God likes to see you happy; He rejoices when you rejoice. God cares about you and He wants to look out for you, and that means that He wants you to have the chance to play.
God also wants you to learn to work hard, though. God wants you to do all of the work that you do as if you were doing it for Him. If God asked you to clear the table, what would you say? If God was coming to see your room, how would you clean it? God is always watching you, and He sees you when you help out your mommy or daddy. God sees you when you do things to help keep your house clean. God wants you to play, but He also wants you to work hard.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23).
How can you help Mommy and Daddy work around the house today?
