“Hear, O sons, a father’s instruction, and be attentive that you may gain insight.” Prov 4:1
She was tired of sitting there, she was tired of learning.
How could any of this rambling be worth an earning?
Her teacher said she’d need to know it someday,
But Squirmles couldn’t imagine that day.
Squirmles wondered, why did we needed to know the history of the land,
Where we came from or this Columbus man?
Past is the past and she was in today,
All she wanted was to get up and play.
But her parents told her school was a right,
Bored was temporary and she’d be alright.
She couldn’t sit still she was ready to go,
She thought she knew everything she needed to know,
But you see, learning is a part of God’s perfect plan,
He knew you’d be bored but you must understand.
He gave us teachers and parents too,
To help us learn–both me and you.
There’s always more to learn from others, you see,
Learning and listening make up what you can be.
God teaches us through others, that’s how it goes,
He needs us to listen to those who know.
So even if you’re bored and don’t want to learn,
Remember someday it will be your turn.
To teach someone younger and explain it all,
So right now sit and listen so you can recall.
