“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2
“You make me so mad!” you might have said,
To someone who treated you wrong.
Your voice was loud and your temper flared
And you stomped around all day long!
Did you ever see Jesus act that way?
Did He do that to people He met?
We must follow our Lord’s leadership
And His example we must not forget!
“I can’t do that!” you might have exclaimed.
“I just can’t be that good!”
But if Jesus commanded it—we all know—
He will help us to act as we should.
Can you be patient? Can you be kind?
Can you speak with a gentle voice?
Jesus will help you change your ways,
By changing your heart to rejoice!
When He gives you a heart of joy,
You will be more loving and kind.
And the more you become like Jesus,
The more He will change your mind.
People we know need to know Him.
We can show Him to all we meet,
By living His Word before them,
We show Him—now isn’t that neat?
Fun Fact: Jesus renews our mind (changes it to think like He does) so we can show others how much He (and we!) love them!
Questions: Name a time when you were not patient or kind to someone. How would Jesus have treated them?
