“Come, Sasha! Time to eat.” Sasha, a Giant Pyrenees sat still. Dangling ham in front of her brought huge gobs of drool plopping on the floor—but no movement. Defeated for the moment, I left.
The next day, armed with stewed chicken and rice, I tried again. I begged. I tugged. I pleaded. I commanded. Sasha layed there.
So, I just said, “Well, girl, your food is going out on the porch. Eat or don’t, but I’m going to the barn. She obviously doesn’t speak English, but I needed to coach myself!
Horses fed, I trudged back to Sasha muttering, “God, I can’t make this dog do anything.”
Inside my head, I heard, “Quite frankly, you can’t make anything. Stop trying to do my job. I got this.” And sure enough. Sasha was sitting in the yard, with all her food gone.
Sometimes, we all have trouble figuring out what we should do and what we need to let God take care of. We worry or get upset. The same God who made the world lives in us and promises to be our helper! With God on the job, there’s never a worry!
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God…
What do you need God to do?
