So, you’re just a kid and you do not go to work,
And your weekly allowance isn’t much of a perk.
Still, this doesn’t mean that you cannot give,
You can be a giver every day that you live.
Giving to others doesn’t mean that you’re rich,
Helping others is as easy as scratching an itch.
Start with what you have, such as your service and time.
It’ll become natural when on the “giving-ladder” you climb.
You can take your neighbor’s dog for a walk,
Or give your hurting friend a hug and a pep-talk.
Give your brightest smiles to all the people you greet,
Share an invitation to church with everyone you meet.
Give your clothes which no longer fit, to someone in need.
With the extra food that’s left over, the hungry you can feed.
You can mow a sick neighbor’s lawn and pull out all the weeds.
You can help another with their garden by planting all the seeds.
Surely others will appreciate it,
So do all the good you can, bit by bit.
You will be really happy you did,
And blessings to you God will bid.
