“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing … “ (1 Thessalonians 5:16-17).
Prayer is talking to God just like you talk to your friends, and prayer helps you know God more. Talking to God is a little bit like talking to someone on the phone; you can’t see Him but you can talk to Him. God loves you, so if you are worried or scared or have a problem, tell God about it.
You can talk to Him any time about anything. If someone at school is mean to you, tell God. If you are scared, tell God. You can also thank Him for the things you have. You can tell God how much you love your parents, your house, and toys. If you know someone who is sick, ask God to make them better. If you are sick, ask God to make you well.
You can pray before you go to bed, and before you eat, but you can also pray anytime you want. When you say your bedtime prayers you probably say them out loud, but prayers don’t always have to be out loud; you can pray in your mind by just thinking of God and the words you want to say. God is everywhere and He is always listening.
What do you want to talk to God about? What can you thank Him for?
