We all have our days when we say to ourselves “What is going on?” or “Why are things so messed up?”
These are the times when we must turn our focus to our Creator. It’s all too tempting to focus in on our problems and let them take over. As a believer in Jesus Christ, it can actually be a challenge to “believe.” Okay…so how exactly can we do that when everything is so messed up?!?! Trust me, I know the feeling. Remember our emotions, aka feelings, can really throw us off track if we are not careful. Always try to be mindful of how you can redirect your focus to God Almighty.
Turn to these verses in your bible for help with this. You can pray over them. Read them backwards and forwards until you really have an understanding of what God is saying.
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
John 14:27 “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
You see throughout the Old and the New Testament, God gives us hopeful words to hold onto in the times when our world gets crazy.
