“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them…” Psalms 5:11
Squirmles sat anxiously watching the news,
She started to fret about everything they’d lose.
The weather man was predicting a pretty bad storm,
She looked out the window and could see it form.
She tried to act calm and hold back her tears,
But big storms and tornadoes were her biggest fear.
Her mom calmly reminded her who was in control,
As they slowly stepped down in the cellar hole.
The wind began to blow and blew mean,
Squirmles pictured a destruction scene.
Then the howling of the tornado alarm,
Squirmles was certain of the pending harm.
Dad grabbed flashlight and joined them below,
“It looks bad now, but over us I think it will blow.”
Squirmles looked to him with trust in her eyes,
She knew her dad wouldn’t lie.
She felt safer now that he was here,
She somehow knew there was nothing to fear.
God is the ultimate father you see,
Always watching out for you and for me.
He controls the winds and makes the rain,
Safe in His arm is where you remain.
God gives you parents and entrusts you to their care,
But he is always in control and he is always there.
What is your biggest fear?
What makes you feel safe?
