I remember the first time Daddy let me take a picture with his camera. (Cameras used to use film to record images.) As he handed the camera to me, Daddy said, “Don’t open the back of it. If the film is exposed to light, it will ruin all the pictures. It doesn’t matter how good the pictures are, exposure will ruin them.”
I was very careful not to press the lever that opened the back of the camera. I pointed it toward my puppy and snapped a picture. Perfect!
Did you know that exposure is very important in your life, too? The Bible says, “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble,” Proverbs 13:20. God wants us to be careful who we spend time with because we will become like them. The people you are exposed to will have a big influence on your life. If you hang out with people doing bad things, you will begin to do bad things as well. But, if you surround yourself with people who love Jesus, you will learn to love Jesus more and to obey Him.
What kind of friends do you have? Do they encourage you to love and obey Jesus?
