“Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” John 11:26
The feeling was unexplainable, it was worse than sad,
It was gut wrenching, terrible, the worst she’d ever had.
Squirmles granddad had passed away,
She had received the news earlier that day.
Cancer was the cause, whatever that meant.
She only knew the pain that it sent.
He was older and had lived a good life,
But that didn’t change the pain now, it felt like a knife.
The pain and sadness made her feel sick,
Why her granddad did God have to pick?
Anger and sadness stirred in her feelings,
How was she to cope and starting dealing?
Her mother tried to comfort her with words so true.
“God sent his son for Granddad too.
All who believe and love God in their heart.
It will only be temporary that they are apart.
“Reunited in heaven on streets of gold,
Whether they pass when they’re young or old.
You will see your granddad again and all who believe.
But for the time being it’s okay to grieve.”
Death no longer has a sting,
But oh the pain it can bring!
Pain and sadness are okay to feel,
But even death can’t break God’s perfect seal.
Have you ever lost someone you love?
How did it make you feel?
How does it make you feel knowing that it isn’t the end for believers?
