“It is well with the man who deals generously and lends … ” Psalms 112:5
Into the box the old toys went,
Some were perfect others were bent.
It was that time of year again,
Time to pass things on to unknown friends.
Squirmles and Squirrel did it every Christmas,
Gave to boys and girls that had a little less.
Their mom called it charity, to give things away,
They just wanted others to have a chance to play.
The toys were good toys that they used to love,
But they had plenty more beyond and above.
It was a way they could share with kids in need,
It was a way to let go of selfishness and greed.
But most importantly it was a way to share,
Not only toys but the way God cares.
See, God gave when he didn’t have to,
He gave his son for me and you.
So give freely whatever you can give,
You are showing God’s love in the way you live.
The greatest gift is from above,
Not just earthly blessings, but God’s purest love.
So as Christmas comes remember the reason,
More than gifts are given this season.
Love that can’t be broken or taken way,
When Jesus was born on Christmas day.
Are there toys in your house that you play with anymore? What else can you give to others that isn’t a toy or a thing?
