” ‘Consider carefully what you hear,’ he continued.” (Mark 4:24a)
Watch your eyes, watch your eyes, what they see.
What you see on TV will forever in your mind be.
The books you read put images in your head,
Don’t choose the bad, but the good instead.
Watch your ears, watch your ears, what they hear.
Eavesdropping and listening to gossip may bring tears.
The music you listen to can control your actions,
So choose wisely when making your playlist selections.
Watch your mouth, watch your mouth, what it says.
Words don’t bite, but they sure can ruin an entire day.
The things you say have the power to build up or break down,
But you can use your words to bring a smile instead of a frown.
Watch your hands, watch your hands, what they do.
Never take what doesn’t belong to you, whether old or new.
The people whose lives you touch can laugh for joy or cry in pain,
Give hugs and other good gifts, that’s never-ending like a chain.
