“Eat just enough…too much of it, and you will vomit.” Proverbs 25:26
“Just a little more time,” Squirmles pleaded.
It didn’t take much and her mom conceded.
Not that it was right to beg again,
But how could more of a good thing be a sin?
They had been out at the park all day,
In the sun Squirmles had wanted to play.
From the pool to the playground and back for more,
Fun and more fun were in store.
Squirmles’ mom had warned her she should to rest,
But playing seemed to be what was best.
The day was hot and the weather was right,
How could she know what would happen that night.
The evening came and the weather got cool,
Tomorrow would be a day at school.
But the morning came all too quick,
Squirmles felt hot, burnt, even sick.
Sun burn and exhaustion were the cause,
She hadn’t taken a rest or cared to pause.
Yesterday’s excessive play was taking its toll,
Now her body was in control.
Sick from school she had to stay,
Resting in bed she missed the day.
Even good things shouldn’t be abused,
We must be thoughtful with the time we use.
How do you feel when it’s time to rest or take a break from something you love? How do you like to rest?
