Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 1 John 2:15-16
What is the thing you love most in your world?
Is it the video game you just got?
Is it the necklace with beautiful pearls?
Or the tee with pink polka-dots?
There are so many fun things to enjoy!
Don’t you just love your comfy old blanket?
Your favorite ice cream from the corner store?
How ‘bout those sneakers or your old catcher’s mitt?
The things of the world are here now, then gone,
They tear! They wear! Shine fades! Too small!
But Jesus’ great love is forever our own
It never tears, or wears—and one size fits all!
Treasures of this world are not worth much.
Those things will break and disappear!
Jesus’ love is what we can trust
He promises always to be very near!
What should we desire most in our life?
Things last a while and depart.
God’s kingdom’s forever and when all else says “bye,”
God will be there, looking into our heart.
Fun Fact: God is eternal and that means He will always be there.
Question: What do you love the most in your world? What will God see when He looks into your heart?
