I have placed my rainbow in the clouds…Genesis 9:13
The wipers squeaked away the final raindrops. From the back seat, my daughter squealed with excitement, “Look, a rainbow!” Immediately, she turned to her brother and said, “It’s mine, I saw it first.”
“You can’t own a rainbow, honey. It belongs to God,” I told her. “There is more to that rainbow than you can see.”
“Really?” she asked.
“We only see part of the rainbow; it is actually a whole circle.”
“How can that be?”
“We are just not in a position to see it all—and that’s okay. The rainbow is a reminder that God loves us. We only need to trust Him. Do you remember the story of the first rainbow?”
“Yep! God promised Noah He would never flood the earth again.”
“That’s right. God promises to care for each of us. He’s always with us. The rainbow is our reminder to look up to God when we see things that scare us or make us sad. We want to point to God ‘s perfect, complete plan for everybody. Rainbows have to belong to God.”
“Okay. I won’t keep it! Thanks, God.”
What will you trust God for today?
