Have you learned to tell time yet? Time is a special gift from God. Time helps us learn what things are most important.
God is bigger than time. He does not have a beginning nor an end.
The most important things are those that last–like God! Sometimes we get caught up in wanting things NOW. Learning to wait is a blessing that comes from learning to tell time.
Momma alligators give a great lesson on waiting. After the eggs are laid, the mother alligator watches her eggs to protect them. After a couple months, she goes to the eggs and grunts. If a baby answers her, she gathers the egg in her mouth, cracks the egg and releases her baby.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens … ” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
If she didn’t wait–and didn’t listen–the baby would die. God made the alligator to value time and listening. We need to do the same.
When we learn to tell time and listen to what God tells us, the things we do will last.
When is it hardest for you to wait? What do you think God wants you to do today?
