There once were two brothers, named Cain and Abel.
They were born in a time when there was no T.V. or cable.
They were the very first siblings to be born on this earth,
And their parents were also the very first to give birth.
Cain and Abel’s parents were called Adam and Eve.
They use to live in Eden and wear clothes made from leaves.
Adam and Eve knew no sorrow, but instead only gladness,
Until they both sinned and brought badness and madness!
Cain became a farmer when he got much older,
Working hard and carrying heavy loads on his shoulder.
Abel was a shepherd who loved taking care of sheep,
He too worked hard and must have gotten little sleep.
They brought gifts to God, thanking Him for what He had done.
Cain didn’t try hard, but Abel’s gift to God was his best one.
Cain got angry and he killed his younger brother,
Without even thinking that he didn’t have another.
The Lord was not pleased, so He punished Cain,
A curse was on him that was as heavy as a chain.
Then Cain went away from his parents and from God,
And then he made his new home in the land of Nod.
