Flora and Brandt like to run and play.
They jump and flip in the sun all day.
They like to play ball and ride bikes.
They like to blow bubbles and fly kites.
On rainy days they play indoors.
They read books after doing chores.
Flora and Brandt also think of others.
They care for their pets and help their fathers and mothers.
They make cards for the sick and alone.
They collect blankets for those without a home.
They collect food for the hungry.
They help Grandpa fold his laundry.
They donate toys during the holidays.
And show God’s love in many other ways.
Did you know there is a scripture in the Bible that teaches us to care for the needs of our pets?
Proverbs 12:10, “The righteous care for the needs of his animals.”
There are other scriptures that teach us how to treat people. One of the most important lessons Jesus teaches us is found in Mark 12:31. ” … love your neighbor as yourself.”
Our neighbors are not just the people who live in our neighborhood. Our neighbors are the people we can see who might need our help. In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus helps understand who is considered our neighbor.
How can you show others that you are a good neighbor?
