“Of the birds after their kind, and of the animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.” Genesis 6:20
I went to the zoo today,
And watched the animals lounge and play.
I saw two tigers laying down taking a nap,
Next I saw two elephants using their trucks to playfully slap.
I was reminded of the story of Noah and the ark,
And how God told him to add two of every animal,
Even snakes that bite and dogs that bark.
Noah was obedient and did as God asked.
Can you imagine trying to get all those animals? What a task!
After the Great Flood and the Earth started to dry,
The animals were let out to roam around, or fly.
Let’s be nice to animals and appreciate their beauty!
And thank God for so many years ago trusting Noah with such a duty!
Fun Fact: The Great Flood lasted over a year, yet God brought Noah enough food for every animal to be fed the entire time.
My favorite animals are tigers and dogs. Draw, print, or color a picture of your favorite animal and hang it somewhere to remind you all animals are here as a result of Noah’s obedience to God.
What is your favorite animal(s)?
