Psalm 3:5 says: “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.”
King David was a good man of God, but he had many enemies who tried to come after him and hurt him. Each night when he went to sleep, he wondered if he would wake up the next day; his life was in that much danger! He wrote this psalm as a way to praise God for keeping him alive.
Did you know that we have God to thank for our life? For the things we are blessed to have around us, to own? God has given us our families, our friends, our homes and the computer you are reading this on. He helps us to survive, to live, to breathe. Each day that you wake up, remember that God has sustained, or helped you. He is the maker of life, and the creator of all good things! We have so many things to be grateful for today, but starting at just being able to wake up in the morning is a great beginning.
What can you thank God for today?
