We get up Sunday morning
To worship God in love.
We put our best foot forward
To please the Lord above.
We cleanse our face and bodies,
Dressing in our best attire.
Whatever is our best to give
Is all that God requires.
We may not have a brand new suit,
Our shoes may be quite worn;
But how we act and what we do –
This matters to the Lord.
We pray for all the ones who serve:
The choir and preacher, too.
We pray for all the teachers
Who will teach in Sunday School.
We pray for our song leader
And for all who serve the Lord.
We pray for everyone in Church
Who meet in one accord.
We make sure we’re respectful,
Our best behavior is put forth.
We sit still, and we listen,
So we’ll learn and please the Lord!
Did You Know?
The Church is not the building itself. The Church is all of the believers: those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, who died on the Cross and rose again, to pay for our sins.
“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15 / KJV)
