Songs are so important for our worship of God. King David was a musician, and he was called “a man after God’s own heart.” He is an author of many praise songs to God, which we find in our Bible in the book of Psalms. David’s psalms were about the things in his life that made him very happy, and by thanking God for his happiness, he brought great pleasure to God Himself. When we take time to sing our praises of God, He is well pleased.
Singing a song of thanksgiving is special because it helps us draw close to God, rejoice over what we are grateful for, and put into words the things our heart is happy about. It is special to pause and consider the gifts we have been given, and to take time to sing to God about them.
“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.” Psalm 69:30
Can you sing a song of thanksgiving today for the gifts God has given you?
