One upon a time, and long long ago,
There were three faithful Jews,
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Daniel approached the king about these fine men,
Asking they be placed over the affairs of Babylon;
For they would not sin.
Our three heroes refused to bow,
Not to the king’s grand, golden image;
For unto the Lord, they had taken a vow.
The king was filled with anger and rage,
Our three faithful men were commanded forth.
Afterwards they were sent to the fiery cage.
In the blazing furnace the Son of God did appear,
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were safe,
For the Lord was with them and they had nothing to fear.
The king called them hither, as they did amaze,
For the Lamb of God had delivered our heroes.
They were protected from the fiery haze.
The king blessed God and made a decree,
Thanks to these three faithful men.
To our Savior, the kingdom would honor Thee.
Fun Fact: Not even a single hair on the heads of the three faithful men was burnt. They didn’t even smell like smoke when they left the fiery furnace.
“And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.” Daniel 3:27
