Did you know that there are Christians, people who follow Jesus, all over the world? And in many places of the world, it is dangerous to love Jesus, and even more dangerous to tell others about Him. In China, Bibles aren’t allowed to be read or given out. In many African nations where Islam is the major religion, it can be very scary to be a Christian.
You might be thinking, “Well that is sad, but what can I do here in America to help people all the way across the globe?”
The answer is simple. Pray. Praying for our brothers and sisters that are missionaries, evangelists or just regular followers of Christ is important, especially if we want to help them! A simple prayer might look like this:
“Dear God, please help the men and women all around the world that worship you. If my brothers and sisters face danger today because of your name or your Holy Word, I pray that you would protect them and encourage them. Also, I pray for their enemies, that you would help them to change their hearts and love Jesus. Thank you for my safety, Lord. Amen.”
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Can you pray today for your brothers and sisters in Christ?
