Our Father God is the True and Holy Judge, Part 1 of 3
Once I had to appear before a judge. I was not in trouble, but I needed the judge to make an important decision for me. I was afraid of him, because the people before me had complained and argued and refused to listen—and the judge ordered one of them to jail for 30 days!
When the judge finally motioned to me to approach his high bench, he saw my fear. But he leaned forward, smiled, and whispered, “Yours is a different case.”
[God says] “For I will be leaning toward you with favor and regard for you …” Leviticus 26:9
I relaxed some, but I knew that this judge, though he was not God, had power to give me what I asked—or throw me in jail if I acted against him. Thank goodness, I knew I had his favor.
There is no judge higher than God. His Word–His Law–is the true Law. But we can’t follow His laws unless His Son, Jesus, comes into our hearts. Then God becomes our Father and forgives and favor us. Jesus becomes our Brother and helps us understand, obey, and be greatly blessed by God’s Word.
Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior and Helper today so you can obey Father God and enjoy His favor?
