Noah was a man who did well in God’s sight,
But the rest of the people didn’t do what was right.
They were wicked and evil every day of their lives,
And they fought each other with swords and knives.
God didn’t like what the people of the world had become,
They wouldn’t do better, and evil they wouldn’t turn from.
So God decided to destroy the world and start all over again,
Their bad behavior was hurtful, and He couldn’t stand the pain.
Thankfully, Noah was obedient so God showed him grace,
He and his family would be kept safe in a special place.
That place was the ark which God told Noah to build,
So when the flood waters came they wouldn’t be killed.
God would destroy the earth with a great big flood,
He used no violence; there wouldn’t be any blood.
God told Noah to put a pair of every animal on the ark,
From tiny little ants that crawl, to the big dogs that bark.
Noah listened and did all that God said,
He packed everything, including water and bread.
He took his family in the ark and God shut the door,
Then it rained … and rained … and rained some more …
God saved Noah and his family from the flood. Can you answer some questions about the rest of the story?
- How many days did the rain fell?
- How many people in total was saved in the ark?
