Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4
Marsha is a new mommy. She needs special food so she can feed her colt. To get all of the nutrition out of Marsha’s food, we have to soak it. Our plan is that Marsha and Aslan go out into the yard, playing and eating grass, while the food is prepared.
Marsha is impatient. All she can think about is that grain. When she is in the stall, she paws her feet. When we put her outdoors, she takes a few bites and clomps her way back inside. Poor little Aslan has to leave his romping fun to follow Momma. And you know what? Marsha cannot eat any sooner by giving up her outdoor time. Her impatience costs her sunshine and grass, because all she does inside is return to the stall and paw her feet.
Are you ever like that: You want something so much, you can’t enjoy what you have? God has a perfect plan for you. Waiting for God to work out details allows us to live with joy in every moment.
