Jonah 2:2 “In my great trouble I cried to the Lord and he answered me; from the depths of death I called, and Lord, you heard me.”
Do you remember the story of Jonah and the whale?
He actually spent three days and nights inside the whale like it was a jail cell!
The reason God did that was because Jonah didn’t listen to Him.
He told Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach to them.
Jonah didn’t want to go because he was raised to hate the people of that city.
When it came to them, he had no compassion or pity.
Instead Jonah fled and hid on a ship.
But God knew and sent a storm to make the ship toss and tip.
When Jonah realized God was causing the storm because of his disobedience to Him,
He asked to be thrown over, probably hoping he could swim.
Instead, he was swallowed by the whale God sent,
Jonah soon realized his mistake and what this punishment meant.
When he was out of the whale, he did as God said.
He went to Nineveh and God’s love he spread.
Many souls were saved by Jonah changing his way,
Doing what God wants us to do is the best way to stay!
Fun Fact: When the whale released Jonah, he had to travel 500 miles to Nineveh, mostly by foot.
What do you think God wants you to do today? How will you obey Him?
