“Whatever you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father because of him.” Colossians 3:17
When others see us they should be able to see that we follow Jesus. When playing Simon Says, we have to do exactly what “Simon” tells us to do. The Bible tells us exactly what God wants us to do. But unlike Simon, He won’t call us “out” when we do something wrong. The Holy Spirit quietly lets us know so we don’t repeat our mistake.
Jesus told people what they needed to do to be with God for eternity. His followers want to do that too. Jesus is loving, kind and forgiving. He wants his followers to be the same.
Jesus always glorified God. Even if someone is better at something than us, as long as we’ve done our very best, God is glorified. When we do what the Bible tells us and are obedient, we are faithful followers.
So remember, when you talk, speak kind words to others like Jesus did. And the next time you have school work or a chore you don’t want to do, remember you’re doing it for Jesus.
What is one thing you can do as if you were doing it for Jesus?
