“I have your name written on my hand.” Isaiah 49:16
It just didn’t make sense, not at all.
The world was so big and her problems so small.
“How does God know what I’m thinking or who I am,
He has too much to do to stop and understand.
I know he loves me, ‘the Bible tell me so’,
But the world is just too big for him to really know.
Too many things need his attention and hand,
The problems on the earth outnumber the sand.
I know he cares and created me with love,
But it’s hard to believe he really sees me from above.
Surely he’s too busy to worry about me,
There are much more important places to be.”
Mom sat and listen to Squirrel’s understandable fears,
She knew it was hard sometimes to realize God is near.
She quietly waited till Squirrel was done,
Then she went into detail of why God sent his son.
“You are more than another ‘thing’ on this earth,
God has been forming you since before birth.
He made you and called to be his child,
His love for you is deep and wild.
He sent his son to insure you could come home,
He never wants you feel left and alone.
He had your name written on his hand,
Tethering you to him tight like a band.”
Have you ever felt too small for God?
When do you feel closest to God?
