“In your anger do not sin.” Ephesians 4:26
That was it! She wouldn’t take it anymore,
Squirrel had just pushed her to the floor.
“That’s it,” she thought to herself,
“I’ll get her back with something else.”
Straight to her sister’s room in anger she went,
She felt vindicated, like she had been sent.
There on Squirrel’s shelf it stood untouched,
A Precious Moment that Squirrel loved so much.
High on the shelf, not to be reached,
The distance between not to be breached.
In her anger Squirmles thought quick,
And grabbed the back end of a broom stick.
One quick sweep and down in a crash,
Hitting the floor completely smashed.
Squirrel ran in with tears in her eyes,
Just starring at the possession she’d once prized.
All of sudden Squirmles’ anger was gone,
Filled with a sudden sense of wrong.
Breaking it was supposed to feel good,
But it didn’t feel as good as she thought it would.
Seeing her sister’s tears made her sad,
It didn’t matter that she had been mad.
“I’m sorry,” Squirmles said with a serious frown,
“I was mad because you pushed me down.”
Anger and revenge are hard to pull apart,
Anger is an okay emotion in the start.
It’s how you handle the anger you feel,
That directs your actions and how you heal.
What is a good way to handle your anger in the moment?
