“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” Colossians 4:5
“I’m about to the leave, here’s the list I need done,
Get it done, and then have some fun.
I’d like it done before I get home.”
Then she left, and Squirmles was alone.
She glanced at the list: “Feed the fish and vacuum,
Make your bed and clean your room.”
She lay back on the couch for one more show,
After all, who would know?
But then it happened, the time passed so fast,
She’d watched three shows each time thinking, “this is the last.”
When she got up from the couch it was too late,
She’d have to clean at Superman rate.
She started with her room, it was a wreck,
And it would be the first thing her mother would check.
She picked up her room and made the bed,
“Chores then fun,” was what her mom had said.
She’d never finish before her mom was back,
She had wasted her time and that’s a fact.
She had ignored her mom’s wishes to clean then play,
What was her excuse now, what was she to say?
Responsibility is sometimes hard to do,
But managing time should be important to you.
Time is a gift God has given us each day,
Let’s not waste it, not waste it away.
Have you ever put off something that needed to be done?
Have you ever thought, I’ll have time to do that later?
