“Thy Word have I hid in my heart; that I might not sin against Thee.” (Psalm 119:11)
Let’s play hide and seek today!
Let’s hide a verse in our heart!
Our heart is a perfect place to play!
Ready, set, let’s start!
Take a Bible verse and lay it just inside,
A special place within your heart and let it there abide.
Let it speak God’s truth to you; say it over again,
Until your mind knows the verse and it is safe within.
God says this is the thing to do when tempted to be bad.
He says it is the way to keep from being rude and mad.
You remember not to hit your brother or pull your sister’s hair.
It warns that all your words be true and spoken great care.
It will help you love your neighbor and the stranger just next door.
It will say be a helper and give something to the poor.
The verse will keep from childhood to when you’re fully grown,
And for your good and kindly acts, you surely will be known.
Best of all it shows how good God is to you and me.
It shows the One that we should serve and follow willingly.
A verse can tell us many things because God’s Word is true.
It can be our steady guide to show us what to do.
That verse will always be a friend within our tender heart.
And if we place more verses there, they never will depart.
We can share with others The Word that hides within.
And we will always have a verse to remind us not to sin!
