But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves (James 1:22).
The Bible says, “Love your enemies.”
You know what to do.
But you don’t like the boy next door
That always teases you.
The Bible says, “Be kind to each other.”
You know what that means.
But you just can’t seem to like that girl
Who talks so loud and screams.
You listen to the pastor or a teacher friend.
They teach, “Love one another.”
But how can you love someone so different?
It seems silly to even bother.
Oh, you can’t do alone what God says to do!
You must let Him live inside
Then you’ll know the love He gives.
And put your hate aside.
Jesus loved the ones who put Him on a cross.
He wasn’t angry with evil men.
He let God’s love work in His heart
To forgive each one his sin.
We can’t just hear God’s Word with our ears.
We must act in love toward others His way.
We must truly be doers of the Word.
And follow Him each day.
We must ask God’s help to be like Him.
We must follow in His steps.
If we walk the way He walked,
His Word will be kept!
Fun Fact: We can listen to God’s Word and then do what it says with God’s help!
Questions: How should you treat others who are different from you or who you don’t like? Why should you be kind to them? (Because that’s what Jesus did!)
