Job was a very, very good man—and a very rich man—in Old Testament. One day, Satan told God that Job only loved Him because God had blessed him. So God allowed Satan to test Job. Satan sent all kinds of bad things to Job. He destroyed Job’s livestock and caused his children to be killed. Then, Satan made Job very, very sick. Even Job’s friends and his wife were unkind to him.
How do you respond when bad things happen? Guess what Job did?
The Bible says, “Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped,” (Job 1:20).
No matter how hard things got, Job continued to trust God. He prayed. He asked God why, but he never gave up or blamed God.
Finally, God spoke to Job. He told Job how powerful He is and reminded him that nothing that happens is outside of God’s control and His love for us.
God is trustworthy. No matter how hard things get, or how scared you are—remember He is good and He loves you!
