Jessie spent hours every day racing about the yard. Anything that moved caught Jessie’s eye: lizards, squirrels, birds and butterflies. Usually she never came very close, but one day, her hand fastened on the tail of a lizard. Jessie’s squeals of joy quickly turned to tears when the lizard hissed and leaped away– leaving just a tiny piece of its tail in her hand.
“Mommy! Mommy! I didn’t mean to hurt him,” she sobbed.
“Shh. Tell me what happened, Jessie.”
After her mom heard the story, she reassured Jessie that the lizard was fine. “God made their tail to do that, honey. It is a way for the lizard to escape from danger. Its tail will grow back. It reminds me of a Bible verse with a promise for you.”

“God protects the animals–and me, too!”
“He sure does, Jessie. All the world is made by God for us to enjoy. He wants us to explore it and learn more about Him every day. Keep chasing your animals and see what they teach you!”
