“For by grace you have been saved through faith … ” Ephesians 2:8
With a splash and a crash it hit the floor,
Squirmles couldn’t hold it back anymore.
Tears instantly streamed down her face,
That moment she wanted to erase.
Her mom had told her to be careful, not till spill,
That perfect glass with milk she filled.
It had been an accident, it really had,
But now in the aftermath all she felt was bad.
Mom finally let her use a special glass,
With dainty handles made of brass.
The body was full of designs and swirls,
Etched in the side were little pearls.
And now there it was, shattered on the floor.
“Mom will never forgive me anymore.”
Tears streamed down her face as she explained the mess,
Mom listened, and then dried her tears with her dress.
“It’s okay dear, accidents will be,
Don’t worry and fret so heavily.”
After picking of the broken pieces and drying the floor,
Her mom filled up a fancy cup once more.
Forgiveness and another chance,
Not giving the problem a second glance.
That is grace and it’s what God desires,
Not to hold down in the mire.
That is his plan that we might live free,
Free from all the guilt and sin we carry.
Free from the pain of the wrong we’ve done.
THAT is why he sent his son.
Have you ever made a mistake you thought was unforgiveable?
How does it make you feel to know that nothing you do is unforgiveable through Christ’s blood?
