“Eat just enough- too much of it, and you will vomit.” Proverbs 25:16
It was the night of the Super Bowl game, everything was set,
The table was full of food and treats, as much as one could get.
The game was supposed to be a good one,
But Squirmles and Squirrel were more concerned with fun.
Staying up late and eating what they want,
They didn’t care about the game winning punt.
Cracker, chips, chocolate and cheese,
Anything they wanted, as much as they please!
They started with the crackers and dip,
And washed it down with a soda sip.
Next the sweets, so many to choose,
They didn’t care about who would win and who would lose.
More snacks and candy was what they were after,
They didn’t think about how they’d feel later.
With open permission to eat and stay up late,
Too much of a good thing was their fate.
It wasn’t that they couldn’t or even shouldn’t indulge and have fun,
But it’s important to know when to be done.
Around 9 p.m., when the game was over,
Squirmles and Squirrel could hardly rollover.
They hadn’t just enjoyed, but over stuffed,
And now their stomachs hurt and life was rough.
To bed they went to sleep till the next day,
Next time approaching “good things” in a different way.
Have you ever had too much of a “good thing”?
Why is it important to have moderation, even with good things?
