To smell, to hear, to taste, to touch, to see,
There are the senses God gave you and me.
The ability to sense our beautiful earth,
Each sense working straight from birth.
To smell–to have a scent in our nose,
To smell the sweet fragrance of a bright red rose.
To take in the air after a quick summer shower,
To sniff and see if the milk’s gone sour.
To hear–to enjoy a melody,
To hear a bird sing or the buzz of a bee.
To enjoy the singing of your mother each night,
Sometimes hearing is better the sight.
To taste–to enjoy a sweet treat,
The taste of chocolate can’t be beat.
Slurping down a glass of lemonade,
Tasting all the wonders that God has made.
To touch–to feel what we see,
From something rough and hard to soft and fuzzy.
To feel with our hands or with our feet,
It’s a time when God’s creation and our body to meet.
To see–to use our eyes,
To open and see what beyond us lies.
To take in color and shape and dimension,
That is why God gave us vision.
” Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ ”Genesis 1:26
