Sophie looked in the mirror and hated what she saw. Bright orange hair curled all over her head and freckles covered her cheeks. Sighing she walked to the kitchen. Her father greeted her.
“How is my beautiful princess this morning?”
“I am fine dad, but not beautiful. Orange hair ISN’T pretty. And freckles are ugly.”
Sophie felt like crying. Her Dad walked over and lifted her up into his arms. He took her to the living room where a picture of a beautiful woman smiled brightly.
“Sophie, your grandmother had the most beautiful orange hair and freckles in the world. See? And Grandfather always says he fell in love with her because he could pick her out a crowd faster than anyone else!” Her father smiled.
Sophie looked at Nanna’s picture. She looked just like Nanna, everyone said. And Nanna was lovely. Felling a little better she returned to the table.
“Sophie, did you know that God made you just as you are for a reason? Everything about you is wonderfully made by God.”
Sophie nodded, hoping that maybe her hair and freckles were a wonderful gift. Maybe God would use them somehow!
“I praise you God, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14
In what ways did God make you wonderfully?
