“I hate this! It’s boring,” Cameron moaned.
Frustration hung like a cloud over his desk. “I quit. I can’t learn this.”
“Do you remember learning to read, son?” asked Mom quietly.
“Not really. And what does that have to do with anything?”
“You felt the same way then. Hard things aren’t boring. They’re good for you and part of God’s plan for you. You can do this!”
Do you ever complain like Cameron? We all do, but his mom is right! God loves us too much to leave us as we are. He wants us to grow strong—and the only way to get stronger is to go through some struggles.
The next time you have something to do that frustrates you, refuse to complain. Choose to play hide ‘n’ seek FOR God. Jesus promised that He never leaves us; He is always present. Try to understand what God is teaching you through the struggle. Look for the loving plans that God is working out in the midst of your troubles:
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
Has God ever shown you something good from a hard thing?
