“Grrr. I am so mad Mom! Chester won’t stop drinking out of the toilet!”
Byron was angry because his new dog seemed to hate only one thing; his water bowl. Chester had a lot of love for toilet water, puddle water, even pond water from the neighborhood pond. But the fuzzy golden retriever refused his water bowl.
Byron’s mother patted Byron on the back and replied, “You know, humans can be a lot like Chester.”
Byron’s eyes were huge! “How?!” He hadn’t seen his parents or anyone drink from a toilet.
“Well, God sent His son Jesus as a way to escape eternal death. He is called the living water. But so many of us forget to drink of him, which means choosing Him as our savior, and following him. We choose to drink from other sources, which can be kind of gross, huh?”
Byron nodded, glad to learn about Jesus and his living water.
“But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again—ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.” John 4:14
What are some places people might get “dirty water” from, instead of Jesus’ living water?
