“The Lord Almighty will care for his flock.” Zechariah 10:3
Squirrel was sick, she didn’t feel well,
Her head hurt, her throat hurt, her tonsils started to swell.
She had come home from school that day at noon,
With a hug and pat and a, “Get well soon.”
Mom wasted no time getting her in bed,
“I’ll get you anything you need,” is what she said.
Squirmles didn’t get what all the fuss was about,
She sat in her room and began to pout.
“Why does Squirrel get all this extra care?
She’s just a little sick, this isn’t fair.”
She sat there alone and continued to fume,
Alone, jealous, and upset in her room.
Finally mom checked see what was the matter,
She tried to explain but got only sadder,
“Squirrel is getting all your attention just because she isn’t well,
I want attention too, can’t you tell?”
Mom gently explained that attention must shift,
“We all need to be flexible, not cause a rift.
When someone sick they need extra care,
Sometimes life isn’t fair.”
God’s love is different it never shifts away,
No matter the circumstances or time of day.
His love never changes and never will,
You can count on him yesterday; you can count on him still.
Have you ever been jealous of someone else receiving more attention?
How does it make you feel to know that God’s love never changes?
