How do people know you’re a Christian? Can they tell just by looking at you?
Now someone may argue, ‘Some people have faith; others have good deeds.’ But I say, ‘How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.’ “ (James 2:18)
We are saved simply by believing in Jesus (John 3:16), however, there’s so much more to the life of a Christian! God wants us to show our faith; He wants the way we live to show that we believe in Him and that God is good and they can be saved too. He wants us to act like Jesus!
Here are four questions you can ask yourself to see if others can tell you’re a Christian:
Time – How do you spend your time? Do you spend it with Jesus, praying, reading the Bible and loving others?
Evangelism – This means telling others about Jesus. Do you talk about God? Do you tell other people how much He loves them?
Abilities – How do you use your talents and abilities? Are you good at math? Maybe in school you could help someone who is having trouble.
Money – You may not have a lot of money yet, but if you get an allowance or gift, you can start practicing now to be generous. “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
