“Mom! Jay is driving me crazy!”
Chris was tired of his baby brother breaking his block tower. Every time he built it, his brother would knock it down, and smile like he was proud. Chris was so mad, he wanted to hit his brother.
“Chris, remember that Jay is still small. Maybe he likes to watch you build it so much that he keeps knocking it down so that you will rebuild again! Here, let me help, I have an idea.”
Chris and his Mom built a tower together, and let Jay knock it down. They built it out of red blocks. His mother explained to baby Jay that the red blocks were for knocking down, but the blue ones were for leaving up. It worked! Jay and Chris actually had fun.
Later, Chris’ Mom spoke to him. “It was really great to see you have patience with your brother and listen to me earlier Chris. I know it is hard to be the big brother! But you made God proud by sharing and teaching with love. And me too!”
She hugged Chris and the boy smiled, remembering the importance of being patient. He was really glad he hadn’t hit his brother!
