Playing sports is fun, but it can be really hard to keep a good attitude when we have to share responsibility with our teammates and play against other people. But our attitude on the court or ball field or wherever we are playing with our friends can be a place to show God’s love and the light of Jesus.
Sharing brings joy to God’s heart, and so we can share the ball and not hog it.
Caring brings joy to Jesus, so we can cheer on not only our teammates, but also our opponents.
Gratitude draws us close to God; thanking our coaches, parents and referees for their help and time can make a huge difference.
No matter what sport you play, if you get to be with others, take time to consider how you can show the love of Jesus!
What are some ways to show good sportsmanship? Consider if you have ever been a bad sport. What are some ways you can be a better sport next time?
