“Do not let your adorning be external … but let the adorning be the hidden person of the heart.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
Her tail was fluffed, her ears upright,
She was ready for the night.
Nails were painted and makeup was applied.
Squirmles looked beautiful, on the outside.
Squirrel ran around in a dizzy,
All day she had been quite busy.
She had helped set up for the party,
And now she was bound to be tardy.
She grabbed what she could and fluffed her tail,
Truth be known she looked a bit frail.
She wasn’t as put together as her sister,
And her shoes were bound to give a blister.
To the party they went to have a good night,
Talking and dancing, it would be alright.
Squirmles starting showing off her beautiful attire,
From her nails to her tail she was admired.
But after a while her friends walked away,
All Squirmles cared about was her look anyway.
Caught up in her looks she missed what mattered,
Outside was beautiful, but inside she got sadder.
Squirrel on the other hand, not dressed to impress,
Found the party a lot less stress.
She enjoyed her friends and danced all night,
She wasn’t concerned with what she looked like.
Beauty and glam are always fun,
But we should be wary not focus on.
True beauty is what lies under the “look”,
Just like the pages of book.
Who is the most beautiful person you know on the inside?
