“In the name of the Lord I cut them off.” Psalms 118:12
Squirmles hesitantly grabbed her backpack,
Excitement and enthusiasm she certainly lacked.
She didn’t want to go to school,
Where people talked and mean girls ruled.
She remembered last year when she went,
She didn’t want to go, but she was sent.
People said one thing and did the other,
No one cared for one another.
There were different groups of girls,
It was like a mix of different worlds.
Some were friendly and some seemed nice,
But you had to watch your back and always think twice.
School was a struggle and friends even more,
Feeling good about herself was attacked at the core.
She never felt good enough to be in the “in” crowd,
She never felt like she was allowed.
Her self-esteemed had hit floor,
She didn’t remember anymore.
She’d forgotten that she had a crown to wear,
A crown that the world could not pair.
God doesn’t want you to be torn down,
You are precious, and you wear His crown.
Royalty you are, a child of The King,
Don’t let the world set your self-esteem.
Bullies and mean people will always be,
But from the world you have been set free.
Hold your head high and remember you’re loved,
By the maker of the universe up above.
Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong or no one liked you?
How does it change your thinking to know that you are a child of a king?
