April is in a season called spring: a time of planting seeds in the ground. The ground must be smooth with no weeds or bugs that might hurt the plants. God brings spring rain so they can grow strong and turn into beautiful flowers, fruits, vegetables or trees at other times of the year.
I wonder if God thinks of us as His garden? He wants us to grow strong and turn into beautiful people who love Him.
In April, Christians around the world celebrate Easter. What is Easter?
Jesus wanted everyone to know about and love His Father, God. But sometimes sin creeps into our lives like weeds and keeps us from loving God – these are the bad things we do known as “sin”.
At Easter, Jesus took our sin when He died on the cross. His last words were, “It is finished” meaning His job to take our sin was done. Jesus is alive in Heaven and He is also with us today but one day He will bring us back to Heaven forever to live with Him there. In the meantime, He wants you to be good and not sin anymore and honor what He did for you.
We might think of Jesus as a farmer. He “waters” us with many blessings. He “feeds” us with the words from the Bible so we can know more about Him and His Father. He took our “weeds and bugs” with Him to the Cross.
For each day during April, write the name of a sin that Jesus took from you for that day. Were you angry? Were you unkind? Did you say something mean to somebody? Jesus will forgive you!”
“ … The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.” Matthew 13:37 NIV
