1 Corinthians 13:6 (NIV) “Love…rejoices with the truth.”
Have you ever not told the truth, said a fun, or told a lie?
I think we all have–to stay out of trouble, protect someone, or sometimes because we just don’t know why.
The Lord tells us in the Bible that lying is something we shouldn’t do.
We can read it in several different verses, it’s even one of the Ten Commandments–it should be very important to me and you!
God honors and blesses our honesty, something we need to always remember and know.
Even when it’s easy to tell a little white lie, remember God wil help you tell the truth and lead you in the way to go.
Psalms 34 12-13 says, “Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many more days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies “
Keep this verse in mind anytime telling the truth seems scary, embarrassing, or hard to do. Focus on God’s Love, our ultimate prize!
Starting right now, let’s always tell the truth, no matter what!
When parents or teachers ask a question or even when a friend asks what you think of their new haircut.
Pray throughout the day, asking God to help you refrain from telling a lie.
I know you can do it, even better God does too! What blessings your honesty will bring, oh my!
Fun Fact: The more honest we are every day, the more reliable and trustworthy we will become to others. That’s something to be proud of!
Fun Idea: Have a friend or family member help you to always be honest by committing to do the same. Sometimes help from someone can give us the strength we need!
When do you have trouble being honest?
